Berna Aytaç graduated from Bilkent University in 2010. After completing her legal internship, she earned her LL.M. in International Intellectual Property Law from Brunel University. In her dissertaion, she addressed the topic of “Copyright Liability of Hosting Providers in Peer-to-Peer Systems,” which was rarely discussed at the time but would later become highly significant.
Berna worked at some of Turkey’s leading law firms in the field of technology, media, and telecommunications law, providing legal consultancy to some of the world’s top technology companies. Her 12+ years of experience in the TMT sector has enabled her to engage with a wide range of legal areas, including data protection, fintech, electronic communications, geolocation data, e-commerce, internet law, digital media, and crypto-assets.
Beyond her career in legal practice and consultancy, Berna has also led projects and conducted research on blockchain technology, offering advisory services to both global and local companies entering the blockchain ecosystem.
Berna holds the CIPP/E (Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe) certification. She is one of the Co-Chairs of the IAPP (International Association of Privacy Professionals) KnowledgeNet Istanbul Chapter and a member of SheFi and the Institute of Neurotechnology & Law.
